The Emerald Coast

The Emerald Coast

The Gwerin cluster around the south-east of their island, hugging its warmer, more fertile regions and the copious rivers that cross their countryside. The Emerald Coast, as the island’s southeastern shore is called, is dotted with the fiefs of the greatest dukes of the Gwerin and the rural estates of expatriate Imperials.

Geography

What is credited as the Emerald Coast actually runs quite far inland; generally, one can claim residency there as far north as the Colomen and as far west as the Great Bay. Farming in the region is not difficult, the weather remains mild, and the good black earth is suitable for a variety of staple crops. Rain and fog predominate the colder months of the south, with the occasional sprinkling of snow. The mist stays as the days warm, but the sun breaks the clouds through summer and gives a rich growing season.
